Lisa Bourgoyne

With more than 27 years of experience in the child advocacy movement, Lisa Longoria Bourgoyne brings both heart and depth to her leadership at The Landing. Her career began in child protection in 1997 and has spanned frontline and executive roles—clinician, forensic interviewer, therapist, supervisor, fundraiser, and director—most recently serving on the executive leadership team overseeing programs and partner relations at one of the nation’s largest children’s advocacy centers.

Lisa’s faith is the foundation of her work and her lifelong calling to serve those who are most vulnerable. She is driven by a deep belief in justice, dignity, and belonging for all people—particularly survivors of exploitation, abuse, and trauma. She is known for building high-performing teams, collaborative partnerships, and trauma-informed programs that help restore hope and healing to individuals and families.

A passionate advocate for equity and restoration, Lisa’s work is grounded in her belief that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and a chance to thrive. She continues to serve the broader community through advisory roles with The Women’s Fund – Houston Health and Resilience Alliance and Houston’s First Baptist Church’s Safeguarding program. She’s also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Houston and a proud alumna of Leadership Houston, Class XXXVII.

An honors graduate of Houston Christian University and the University of Houston, Lisa holds degrees in psychology and educational counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor.

Outside of work, she finds joy in her family—especially cheering on her son, a professional cyclist and the current USA National Champion in Criterium Racing. Lisa and her husband, Rene’, live in Houston with their two beloved cockapoos and can often be found biking along the Bayou Greenways or traveling to races around the country.
