Introducing Mindy: A Heart for Mission, A Vision for Hope

At The Landing, our mission is rooted in walking alongside survivors of human trafficking with the unwavering love of Christ. That mission is only made possible through the dedicated leadership of people who carry it forward with compassion, conviction, and clarity. Today, we are honored to introduce our new Chief Development Officer, Mindy—a passionate advocate, seasoned nonprofit leader, and woman of deep faith.

Called to the Mission

“When I heard that The Landing leads their work serving survivors through a trauma-informed lens fueled by the hope and love of Jesus Christ, I knew this was a special place.”

With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit development across Houston, Mindy brings a wealth of expertise to her role—and a clear calling. Her heart for helping others has long guided her professional journey, and she believes every step has been part of a greater plan.

“I believe that when we surrender our life to God and His will, He will direct our paths. Every job has equipped me with skills, character-building, and relationships that have prepared me for this moment.”

At The Landing, Mindy sees her role not just as a job—but as a ministry.

Brighter Than Gold: A Personal Reflection

The Landing’s 2024 gala theme, Brighter Than Gold, resonates deeply with Mindy. To her, it’s more than a metaphor—it’s a spiritual truth rooted in perseverance and God’s refining work in our lives.

“There are times that we do not understand why we are going through certain situations. But when we develop perseverance, our faith becomes stronger. God refines and purifies us just like gold—what a beautiful illustration.”

It’s this belief in redemptive transformation that fuels her daily work and her vision for what’s ahead.

A Vision for the Future

As The Landing prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026, Mindy sees the road ahead as one of possibility and purpose.

“There’s so much good work happening here. I’m excited to share our dreams, invite others into our mission, and expand our community of support.”

With a heart for building bridges, Mindy is especially focused on deepening connections with church partners, ministries, and supporters who believe in lasting change. “There is plenty of room for all of us to collaborate,” she says.

Meeting Survivors Where They Are

When asked what the most pressing needs are for survivors in Houston, Mindy shares this heartfelt truth:

“Survivors need to be welcomed into a safe and loving community—one that empowers them to write the next chapter of their story.”

From volunteers who serve meals at our Drop-In Center to donors who sustain our trauma-informed services, every person who supports The Landing is part of that healing journey.

Faith, Family, and Forward Momentum

Outside of work, Mindy finds peace in nature, joy with her family, and strength through Scripture. Her guiding verse is Proverbs 3:5–6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

That verse mirrors her leadership—humble, Spirit-led, and focused on the eternal impact of each act of service.
