Just last week, we hosted a pre-graduation lunch with survivors from our Empowerment Group. The room was filled with honesty, strength, and encouragement, but one moment has stayed with us.
A survivor shared:
“[My counselor] believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He saw me on the street when I was ready to give up and said, ‘I’ll see you at The Landing.’ I got myself together because I wasn’t going to let him down. And eventually, I wasn’t going to let myself down.”
This is the power of being seen and not given up on.
For the past 10 years, The Landing has been that place of consistency for survivors rebuilding their lives after exploitation and trafficking. And what we know is this: healing happens in relationship, transformation takes time, and showing up again and again is what makes it possible.
